ACNE JEANS x TRETORN Collaboration Sneakers

Celebrate outdoor fun & relaxed entertaining in these cool kicks! Swede superstar brands Acne Jeans & Tretorn have teamed up to create 2 vintage styles of sneaker -- a classic high-top & a low-top called the ‘Acne Jeans Stroll Mid Canvas’ & ‘Acne Jeans Stroll Low Canvas’ respectively. The shoes have their starting point in a classic Tretorn sneaker worn by tennis legend Björn Borg back in the ’70s. Additional inspiration was drawn unexpectedly from an old Chinese military sneaker found in a New York vintage store. Classic Oxford shirt material that lines the interior of the shoes makes further fine example of the unmistakable Scandinavian attention to detail. Definitely worth getting yourself a pair!

Acne Jeans: In 1997 ACNE (aka “Ambition to Create Novel Expressions”) a Stockholm design firm made 100 pairs of jeans as presents for clients & friends (that’s generous!). A year later, in response to retail demand & public buzz, Acne Jeans was born. Who’d have thought denim with a pimply name would fly off the shelves? But that’s exactly what happened, & today Acne Jeans’ minimalistic yet edgy frocks for men & women are all the rage on the fashion scene.

Tretorn: To tennis aficionados in Europe, Tretorn is practically a continental treasure. Founded by Henry Dunker in Sweden in 1891 & a subsidiary of Puma since 2001, this athletic goods company established itself worldwide with timeless footwear & tennis balls. For the past 2-3 years, Tretorn has been resurging with interesting sneaker designs & creative interbrand collaborations.

United Nude Eamz 'X' Strap & Multi-Strap Sandals

United Nude’s Eamz collection gets a reinvention. In these latest models -- the mirror/metallic ‘X’ strap sandals & the multi-strap sandals -- the unique Eamz heel offers a striking counterpoint to the classic design of traditional sandals.
The arty treatment produces heels that aren’t really there at all, & sandals that’re comfy, fun & definitely a conversation starter.
The ‘imaginary heel’ also acts as a cushion in your step. The idea takes just a little getting used to, but a pair of UN Eamz is refreshingly easy on your back & knees!

YMC (You Must Create) Classic Style Plimsole

YMC plimsoles for old-skool sneaker fun!
Appreciated as a forward-thinking, leftfield cult label since its formation in London in 1995, YMC (a.k.a. You Must Create) got its name from a quote by the great industrial design pioneer Raymond Loewy: “You must create your own style.” This pretty much sums up the philosophy behind YMC. Founders Jimmy Collins & Fraser Moss stand out for their independent approach & preference for developing their own vision rather than following seasonal trends. The influence of ’40s - ’70s youth culture is strong in YMC designs. This is always modernised with a dash of dandy & a sprinkle of rockstar, producing retro-futurist menswear that won Collins & Moss the British Streetstyle Designers of the Year award in 1999. In recent years YMC has added depth to its range with footwear & women’s line.
Plimsoles have made a massive come back in the fashion stakes -- one of this season’s must-haves! -- & these YMCs sure hark back to the ones everyone had at school.
They would
go well under your skinny jeans, work with a lot of other things you'd own, & aren’t Converses (!). Everybody loves them.
The extra wide sole & high toe cap give these plimsoles a retro look.
Patent or gingham canvas. Now in store.
